We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced team or individual to join our team as a Subcontractor Roofer. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Ontario residential roofing systems, with proven experience in asphalt shingles, metal, and low slope/flat roofing, along with a strong ability to deliver exceptional customer service and quality workmanship that stands up to Canadian winters. Skylight experience is a big plus, as we have immediate skylight work available.

Compensation: $50,000 to $100,000 annually based on piecework/square rates

Collaboration:

- Work closely with project managers and our production team to ensure every roof is dried in before end of day or incoming weather.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with homeowners on site to provide exceptional service.

Responsibilities

- Tearing off existing roofing and inspecting, repairing, or replacing damaged decking as needed.
- Installing ice and water shield at eaves, valleys, and penetrations per Ontario Building Code requirements.
- Installing synthetic underlayment, drip edge, flashing, and proper roof ventilation.
- Installing asphalt shingles to manufacturer specifications.
- Installing standing seam and metal roofing systems.




- Installing flat roof systems including modified bitumen, TPO, and EPDM.
- Installing, replacing, and flashing skylights to manufacturer specifications.
- Identifying and reporting any structural issues, rot, or hidden damage to the project manager.
- Compliance with the Ontario Building Code and Ontario health and safety regulations.
- Following all fall protection requirements on every job.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area and performing daily magnetic sweeps for nails.
- Documenting work stages via smartphone for project management and warranty records.
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Receiving direction from the project manager as directed.

Qualifications

- Must have own vehicle, ladders, tools, and professional roofing equipment.
- Minimum 5 years of roofing experience in Ontario verifiable through references.
- Experience with skylight installation and replacement is a strong asset (VELUX or manufacturer certification preferred).
- Must hold valid Working at Heights certification.
- Must carry their own Commercial General Liability Insurance (minimum $2,000,000) and Workers Comp (WSIB) with a current Clearance Certificate.
- Must be willing to undergo and pass a criminal background check.
- Solid knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and manufacturer installation requirements.
- Knowledge of all applicable health and safety standards.




- Skill in estimating time and material requirements for roofing projects.
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.
- Comfortable working at heights, on steep slopes, and in cold weather conditions.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Ability to independently solve problems.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must speak English to communicate effectively with project managers and homeowners.
- Must have a smartphone and basic computer skills since that's how we dispatch our orders and track job progress.
- Highly organized and self motivated.
- Quality conscious and punctual.
- Must be clean and tidy.
- Strong physical condition.
- Driver's license required.
