Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sushi Chef/Kitchen Staff member to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role involves preparing high-quality sushi and supporting overall kitchen operations to deliver an exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent food safety practices, and experience in the food industry, particularly in sushi or Japanese cuisine.

Duties

- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and attention to detail, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients for various menu items
- Support cooking activities for other menu offerings, maintaining consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Handle food safely and responsibly, following proper food handling procedures
- Serve customers at the counter or table when needed, providing friendly and efficient service




- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and ingredients as required
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for staff and customers

Skills

- Proven experience in serving and food preparation within a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, especially related to sushi and Japanese cuisine
- Excellent food handling skills with a focus on food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Valuable communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
- Kitchen experience in the food industry is highly desirable
- Knowledge of meal preparation, food service operations, and restaurant procedures is preferred
