THE OPPORTUNITY

Alberta Construction Rentals is looking for a Swamper / Field Labourer to join our Calgary operations team.

This is a full-time seasonal position to start, with the possibility of becoming a permanent full-time position for the right individual.

This is a physical, hands-on role supporting our drivers, gasfitters, service technicians, and field operations at construction sites throughout Calgary and the surrounding area.

We are looking for someone who isn't afraid of hard work, shows up on time, takes direction well, and wants to learn and advance. Previous construction or rental experience is an asset, but attitude, reliability, and work ethic are more important than experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

- Assisting drivers and field staff with deliveries, pickups, setup, and removal of rental equipment.
- Loading and unloading heaters, hoses, cords, propane equipment, fuel equipment, fencing, and other construction rental equipment.
- Assisting with the setup and teardown of temporary heating and fuel systems.
- Moving and organizing equipment in the yard and shop.
- Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing rental equipment for the next job.
- Assisting technicians and gasfitters on construction sites as directed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Working outdoors in winter and changing weather conditions.




- Following company safety procedures and participating actively in our safety program.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate must:
- Be punctual, dependable, and reliable.
- Have reliable transportation to and from our shop.
- Be physically capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying 80–90 lbs.
- Be comfortable working outdoors in cold weather and on active construction sites.
- Be able to walk and work safely on uneven ground and in physically demanding conditions.
- Be motivated, driven, and willing to learn.
- Take direction well and work effectively as part of a team.
- Be able to communicate clearly in English with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Be willing to work overtime when required during our busy winter season.

A valid Class 5 driver's licence and clean driver's abstract are considered an asset.

Previous experience in construction, equipment rental, HVAC, temporary heating, fuel delivery, or a similar industry is an asset but not required.

Training will be provided for the work and safety certifications required for the position.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Schedule: Full-time hours with overtime opportunities during peak season

Seasonal employees will have vacation pay paid out on each paycheque.

Health and dental benefits are not included with the seasonal position. Employees who are offered and accept a permanent full-time position may become eligible for the company's benefits program in accordance with company policy.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
