This position will provide leadership to Protective Services Rural Mobile Unit in Southern Alberta. This position will be responding to and providing leadership across a variety of locations in southern Alberta. As a Team Lead you will be responsible and accountable for providing the direction, mentorship, team leadership and organization over the activities of the Protective Services Team.

The position is responsible and accountable for making unit-level decisions and having a leadership responsibility for contributing and achieving the goals of the Protective Services Department.

Description

The Team Lead for Protective Services performs a team leadership role within the Protective Services department and reports directly to the Manager of Operations – Protective Services. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the Protective Services Team in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position is responsible and accountable for making unit-level decisions and having a leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Protective Services Department.

Classification: Team Lead Union: Exempt Unit and Program: Protective Services, South Rural Mobile Unit Primary Location: Chinook Regional Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Employee Class: Regular Full Time FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 01-OCT-2026 Date Available: 19-OCT-2026 Hours per Shift: 12 Length of Shift in weeks: 8 Shifts per cycle: 26 Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $31.64 Maximum Salary: $54.36 Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Provided

Required Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Active or eligible for appointment as a Community Peace Officer I by the Alberta Solicitor General. Completed Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) with a minimum passing time at or under four minutes and forty-five seconds (4:45). Valid class 5 non-GDL driver's license.

Additional Required Qualifications

A minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or relevant education. Ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). Public speaking capabilities. Proven multi-tasking and effective decision-making abilities in a fast paced, stressful environment. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years post-secondary education in Law Enforcement, Social Studies, or Security & Asset protection. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Health Care experience is an asset. 2 years Management Experience.
