Join a team that connects international students with compassionate and caring families in Canada, creating enriching cultural experiences for both students and host families.About the Host Ambassador positionReporting to Host Capacity Lead, the Host Ambassador is primarily responsible for qualifying new and existing host families that meet Canada Homestays standard of care. With a relationship focused approach and a drive for sales, the Host Ambassador will grow the host community within their region. Individuals successful in this role have weekday evenings and weekend availability, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent organizational skills.This is a permanent full-time (up to 40hrs a week) position in the Coquitlam region and surrounding areas. It is a hybrid role with an hourly wage between $25.50-$27.50.Our Interview/Home Visit and Revisit Compensation Policy applies for the interview and host file completion.Key ResponsibilitiesHost AmbassadorConduct in-person interviews/visits (for current hosts) and revisits (for existing hosts)



at their homes to ensure the rooms and family environment meet the required standardsConduct pre-screen calls and enter data into our host databaseConduct host annual reviewsEnter data and supporting documentation (ie. criminal record checks, host agreements, etc. ) following all CHN protocols for due diligence and data integrityField inquires from prospective hostsSupport the host team in reaching monthly targetsBuild a supportive local community for host familiesThe successful candidate will haveExcellent sales and interpersonal skills with the willingness and ability to promote and sell the CHN Host programPositive communication skills including conflict resolutionAbility to work in a team and maintain and develop relationships with colleagues and their local communityWorking knowledge of database software products as well as online communication tools (preferably Excel, Word, Filemaker Pro, and MS Teams)Working knowledge of utilizing an email client or webmailEffective business writing skills, strong problem solving and organizational skills, including attention to detailAbility to travel to nearby cities/towns outside of Nanaimo.Experience working with youth/students is preferredThis role requires the successful candidate to have a full drivers license with a reliable vehicle that has at least 2 million auto insurance liability coverage, a mobile phone for emergency support, a digital camera, and access to high-speed internet. They will also need to be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.This position will be open until filled.
