Job Details
Position Title: Program Support Officer

Status: PT Support (Appendix D) Contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Longo Faculty of Business

Campus/Location: North Campus (Primary), Lakeshore Campus (Secondary)

Payband: G

Salary Range: $35.29 – $40.73

Starting Salary: $35.29

Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outlined in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

About the Program Support Officer Role
The Program Support Officer will provide direct support to Academic Leadership in the Longo Faculty of Business while providing a comprehensive range of support services to the students, professors,



program coordinators (PCs), external stakeholders, in their assigned cluster of programming. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: administrative, program, financial, human resources, student, marketing, and inter‑departmental support. The Program Support Officer also acts as a resource to students, professors, PCs, and administrators on the application of the College’s academic policies and procedures and thus, will continue to develop opportunities that directly impact the learning environment.

Education
The successful candidate will hold a three (3) year diploma or degree or equivalent in the fields of Business, Communications, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Marketing, or other related field of study.

Experience / Skills
The incumbent will have a minimum of three (3) years of progressive administrative or student advising experience in a post‑secondary environment.

Compiling and analyzing research‑based data from various sources, producing reports, and identifying trends from data to develop solutions and strategies experience

Supporting curriculum planning, academic program delivery, and with advising students on course and program selection experience

Experience with a variety of communication platforms and with proof reading communications

Experience interpreting policies and procedures

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat

Excellent time‑management and multi‑tasking abilities

Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as to work in a team environment

Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills





Ability to use office equipment (telephone, photocopier, printer, fax) and troubleshoot minor technical problems

Occupational Health and Safety training is considered an asset
