Overview: Since 1979, Foothills Academy Society has been a leader in working with children and youth with Learning Disabilities and associated disorders. We are a Designated Special Education Private School for grades 3-12. Our year round Community Services department reaches over 1,000 individuals annually. The Position

Foothills Academy is seeking a Temporary Full time Junior High Math Teacher for a one year maternity leave position. The successful candidate will provide engaging and meaningful Mathematics instruction while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed.

The academic program at Foothills encourages collaborative learning, creativity and an understanding of the diverse learning needs of students with learning disabilities as well as adhering to the Alberta Program of Studies.

Qualifications

● Alberta Teaching certification (required)

● Outstanding teaching evaluations and professional letters of reference

● Experience teaching Math





● Experience working with students with Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD preferred

● Outstanding instructional and classroom management skills

● Solid communication and organizational skills

● Personal integrity and trustworthiness

● Ability to establish trust and rapport with students

● Comfort and competency working with computers and other technologies to support student learning

Pay: $66,915.85-$114,820.11 per year
