We are seeking one or more dedicated and compassionate Therapy Assistants (TA) to join our team to support our clients. The ideal candidate will support licensed occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and psychologist in providing therapeutic services to children across various settings, including clinic, community, and home. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in transferring learning from therapy sessions into home and community.
A little bit about us:
We are a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic located in the heart of downtown Calgary. We are Alberta's first Ayres' Sensory Integration clinic, bringing forth evidence-based sensory strategies to support children 0-18 with sensory integration challenges.
We offer in-clinic and in-home sessions for families all over Calgary.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologist in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to child's needs.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and document the intervention in timely matter
- Monitor and document child's progress, reporting any significant changes to the supervising therapist.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for therapy sessions.
- Educate clients and their families on therapeutic activities and exercises to promote independence and learning.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, client responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support the safety and comfort of patients during therapy sessions, adhering to all safety protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience working in pediatrics is highly preferred.
- Experience working with diverse pediatric populations
- Able to support clients in the greater Calgary area (we can help schedule clients around where you live)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team are necessary for success in this role. Pay: From $25.00 per hour
