Responsibilities

- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods over long or short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Load and unload cargo with care, often requiring heavy lifting to secure items properly in the truck
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery receipts to ensure transparency and accountability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all safety protocols,



including proper securing of loads and adherence to hours-of-service regulations
- Assist with warehouse duties when necessary, including moving freight within storage areas using appropriate equipment

Skills

- Proven experience driving heavy trucks with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of loading or unloading cargo
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for commercial driving
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and physical tasks involved in loading/unloading freight
- Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and compliance with safety standards
