Job Summary - Truck Scale Technician

We are currently seeking a Truck Scale Technician to join our team out of our Dieppe, NB office. You will be servicing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and installing truck scales in a variety of environments across the Maritimes. The key components of the truck scale technician are to both work on the scale hardware and technology while operating a heavy-duty weight truck and hydraulic boom lift. This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the General Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead truck scale installation projects; direct other team members, communicate with customer, coordinate with other trades as needed and be accountable for the end project
- Installation of truck scale systems (equipment, accessories, and associated wiring)
- Service and repair Advatek-installed and others-installed truck scales
- Calibrate and certify truck scale systems per manufacturers specifications and Measurement Canada standards
- Maintain appropriate Measurement Canada Truck Scale service technician accreditation
- Complete systems documentation; commissioning reports, as-builts, etc.
- Communicate with the customers about the system specifications and functions
- Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required
- Attend service calls to troubleshoot systems for customers – diagnosis of problems and implementation of solutions
- Understand,



adhere to, and promote environmental health & safety practices
- Job planning according to desired timelines, including the dissection of blueprints from designers
- Outgoing, professional, and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers
- Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring little supervision
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Operate heavy duty truck weight truck with hydraulic boom (Class 3 license)
- All other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge and Experience

- 5+ years' experience in the weigh scale industry
- Measurement Canada accreditation considered an asset
- 5+ years’ experience in operating heavy duty equipment with appropriate licensing
- Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues
- Ability to manage workload and to ensure that jobs are completed on time and on budget.
- Bilingual in French and English considered an asset but not required
- Preference will be given to those who have experience with the following Manufacturers: · Mettler Toledo, · Rice Lake, · Weigh-Tronix

Additional Requirements

- Valid Class 3 driver’s license
- Experience operating a hydraulic boom
- Knowledge of low voltage industrial control systems an asset
- Previously accredited as a recognized Measurement Canada Technician considered an asset
- Ability to pass a criminal record check and carry a government security clearance
