We currently have a full-time position available for a Truck or Trailer Technician at our Paradise, NL location. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on technician to join our Service Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial trailers in a busy heavy-duty repair environment. This position is well suited to an experienced truck or trailer mechanic who takes pride in their work and is looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday schedule. Trade certification is an asset, but strong hands-on experience will also be considered.

The job requires physical strength, including heavy lifting, frequent bending, working in tight spaces, and being on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities and requirements:

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trailers
- Repair and replace components including chassis, frame, cab, body, steering, suspension, brakes, fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
- Repair and replace trailer components including brakes, bearings, suspension systems, electrical systems, and hitch assemblies
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems and other commercial vehicle systems




- Inspect and test mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify faults and malfunctions
- Use diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, schematics, hand tools, and power tools to troubleshoot and complete repairs
- Perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance
- Estimate parts and labour costs for recommended repairs
- Complete work orders and reports accurately, documenting problems, repairs, and work performed
- Review work orders and communicate with Service Advisors regarding required repairs and work completed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working workplace
- Follow all company health and safety procedures

Qualifications:

- Previous hands-on experience repairing commercial trailers, or heavy-duty equipment
- Truck & Transport, Trailer Technician, Heavy-Duty, or related trade certification is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
- Experience with air brake systems, electrical systems, suspension, and steering components
- Computer diagnostic and repair experience is an asset
- Ability to read and understand technical information, schematics, and service procedures
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence

Schedule:

- Full-time: Monday to Friday - 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Possible overtime
