Everyday Learning is launching an affordable tutoring service to help more families access consistent, encouraging academic support. We are seeking knowledgeable, dependable tutors who enjoy helping students understand their schoolwork and build confidence.

We welcome applications from university and college students, graduates, experienced tutors and educators. Teaching certification is an asset but is not required.

About the opportunity

Our initial focus is on students in Grades 3–8 who need support with:

- Mathematics
- English, reading and writing
- French Immersion or Core French
- Science and current classroom assignments

You do not need to tutor every subject or grade. Tell us where your strengths are so we can consider suitable matches. Sessions may take place online, in students’ homes, or at approved libraries and community locations throughout Windsor–Essex. You may express interest in one or more delivery formats.

What you would do

- Provide individual tutoring suited to each student’s subject needs and learning goals.
- Help students understand concepts and practise skills using current schoolwork and appropriate resources.
- Prepare for agreed sessions and provide brief notes about work covered and next steps.
- Communicate professionally with parents about scheduling and student progress.
- Maintain accurate session records and submit invoices as agreed.
- Protect student privacy and follow agreed safeguarding expectations.

Everyday Learning focuses on school-subject support. Tutors will only be considered for assignments within their demonstrated skills and experience. Who we are looking for

- Strong knowledge of the subjects and grade levels you wish to tutor.
- Patience, clear communication and a supportive approach.
- Reliability and the ability to manage accepted commitments.
- Experience working with children or youth through tutoring, teaching, mentoring, coaching or related activities.
- Comfort adapting explanations to different learning needs.




- Solid French skills if applying for French tutoring assignments.

Online tutors need a reliable internet connection, suitable computer and quiet teaching space. In-person tutors need reliable transportation to the locations they agree to serve; owning a vehicle is not required.

Session fees

- Online: $24 per 60-minute session
- Approved library or community location: $26 per 60-minute session
- In-home: $30 per 60-minute session

Fees cover the session and the modest preparation and brief follow-up agreed upon before accepting an assignment. In-person fees assume local travel within an area you agree to serve. Any additional work or travel arrangements will be discussed in advance. These are contractor fees before your own expenses and taxes.

Availability and assignments

Please share your preferred subjects, delivery formats, service area and availability. Tutors may accept or decline proposed assignments and may work with other clients or organizations. Scheduling is agreed upon with families, and tutors use their professional judgment to deliver the agreed academic support.

Assignments depend on student demand and suitable matches. A minimum number of sessions is not guaranteed.

Selected applicants will be asked to provide references, verify relevant qualifications and complete appropriate screening for work with children.
