Rivacore is hiring for four roles on our utility locating team, from entry-level to field supervisor. Our locators find and mark underground gas, hydro, telecom, fibre, water, and sewer lines so crews can dig safely. The work matters. One accurate locate can prevent an injury, an outage, or a gas leak.

Positions at a Glance

- Utility Locator (Training Provided): no experience needed
- Experienced Utility Locator / DPT: 3+ years
- Lead Hand Utility Locator / DPT: experienced locator ready to help lead
- Field Supervisor, Utility Locates: leads the field team

No locating experience required. We'll teach you everything you need to know.

What you'll do

- Learn to use electro-magnetic locating equipment to mark underground utilities
- Mark utility lines with paint and flags using industry colour codes
- Draw clear sketches and complete digital records of each job
- Work alongside experienced locators until you're ready to work on your own

What you need

- A valid G driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather and on your feet all day
- Basic comfort with phones and tablets
- Reliability and a willingness to learn and take feedback




- Construction, trades, landscaping, or outdoor work experience is a bonus

Pay: $19–21/hour during training, increasing once you're working independently

1. Experienced Utility Locator / Damage Prevention Technician (DPT)

What you'll do

- Complete dedicated locates for gas, hydro, telecom, fibre, water, and sewer
- Read Ontario One Call tickets, utility maps, as-builts, and GIS data
- Produce accurate markings and clear, legible locate sketches
- Coordinate with contractors and site foremen and monitor digs when required

What you need

- 3+ years of public utility locating experience
- Experience locating for Alectra, Enbridge, and Hydro One
- Strong electromagnetic (EM) locating skills
- A valid G licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Assets: ORCGA DPT certification, GPR experience

Pay: $25-$32/hour based on experience

1. Lead Hand Utility Locator / DPT

All the work of an Experienced Locator, plus a step toward leadership.

What you'll do

- Everything in the Experienced Locator role
- Help the Supervisor support and coach other locators
- Handle client callbacks, repaints, and troubleshooting
- Help with escalations and keep team morale strong

What you need

- Everything listed for the Experienced Locator role
- [6+] years of locating experience
- Confidence helping others and solving problems on site
- Interest in moving into supervision

Pay: $30-$35/hour based on experience

1. Field Supervisor, Utility Locates

What you'll do

- Plan, assign,



and manage daily tickets for a team of locators
- Support technicians in the field, including difficult locates and backlog
- Run safety audits, damage investigations, and quality reviews
- Handle customer complaints, callbacks, and utility owner escalations
- Track attendance and give daily status updates to management
- Spot changes in ticket volume and plan ahead to meet client deadlines

What you need

- [5+] years of utility locating experience, including Alectra, Enbridge, and Hydro One
- [1–2+] years leading or supervising field crews
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort with email, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
- A valid G licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Asset: ORCGA DPT certification

Pay: based on experience and skillset What Every Role Looks Like Day to Day

- Start time: on site and working by 7:30 AM
- Where: residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal sites across Ontario, in urban and rural areas
- Conditions: outdoor work in all weather, including ditches, gravel, and construction zones
- Hours: full-time, with overtime and occasional weekends when client deadlines require it
- Expectations: clear, accurate work, steady daily production, and quick replies to calls and messages from your team
- Safety: safety comes first on every job
