The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring regulatory developments, evaluating compliance risks, and implementing effective compliance frameworks. This role is critical in promoting ethical business practices and minimizing legal and regulatory exposure.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and interpret recent and existing legislation, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the organizationDevelop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and controlsConduct internal audits and assessments to identify potential compliance issuesProvide legal guidance on regulatory and compliance matters to internal departmentsLead or support investigations into compliance breaches or regulatory concernsPrepare and deliver training programs for staff on compliance and ethics-related topicsCollaborate with external regulators and legal counsel when requiredEnsure timely reporting to regulatory bodies and oversee licensing or certification requirementsAssist with risk assessments and maintain up-to-date documentation of compliance effortsQualifications:LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized Canadian law schoolMember in good standing with the Law Society of OntarioMinimum 3–5 years of experience in legal compliance, regulatory affairs, or related fieldsStrong understanding of Ontario and federal compliance regulations (e.G., privacy, anti-corruption, workplace safety, financial regulations depending on sector)Experience developing and managing compliance programsExcellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and ability to explain complex legal issues in clear termsHigh level of integrity, discretion, and professionalismExperience in a regulated industry (e.G., healthcare, finance, energy) is an assetBilingualism (English/French) is an assetWe thank all candidates in advance.
