We deliver actuarial, administration, software, and consulting solutions for pension, benefits, and investment programs across Canada, serving individuals, corporations, unions, associations, and government organizations.Position SummaryThe Disability Case Manager is responsible for managing short-term disability (STD) claims from intake through resolution. This role involves assessing functional abilities, determining eligibility, coordinating medical care, and facilitating safe and timely return-to-work outcomes. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a client-focused approach.LocationThis is a full-time, on-site position based in our Vaughn office.Key ResponsibilitiesReview short-term disability applications to determine eligibility based on medical and policy criteriaEnsure all required documentation is complete and accurate for claim adjudicationEvaluate claims through communication with claimants, employers, and healthcare providersAssess functional abilities and support return-to-work planningCoordinate timely medical assessments and treatment plansCommunicate claim decisions clearly,
both verbally and in writingResolve client inquiries and issues promptly and professionallyManage claims throughout the lifecycle until resolution or transition to long-term case managementCalculate and issue accurate benefit paymentsMaintain precise records of weekly and monthly disability paymentsCoordinate premium waivers with insurance providersMaintain professional, confidential communication with all stakeholdersManage an assigned caseload and develop expertise in specific client groupsCollaborate with internal teams across Ellement divisionsSupport additional projects and administrative duties as requiredEducationBachelor's degree or diploma in a health-related field (preferred)ExperienceMinimum 2 years of experience in:Disability case managementBenefits administrationClaims adjudication or healthcare-related rolesSkills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of medical and mental health conditionsExcellent analytical and decision-making abilitiesStrong numerical and calculation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environmentHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationLanguage RequirementsCandidates must be fluent in both English and French (spoken and written).CertificationsParamedical services therapist license (preferred)AttributesAbility to handle sensitive medical information with strict confidentialityResilient and adaptable in time-sensitive environmentsClient-focused with strong interpersonal skillsCollaborative team player with a proactive approachAdditional RequirementsSuccessful completion of a criminal background check
