We're working with Access Precision Machining to find a Welder / Fabricator.

The shop is equipped with 29 CNC machines, a dedicated welding division, waterjet cutting technology, and advanced inspection capabilities, including 2 CMM’s and a Hexagon 3D Scanner.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled, motivated Welder / Fabricator who takes pride in producing high-quality work. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship while contributing to a collaborative production workplace. The Welder / Fabricator is responsible for fabrication, fitting, welding, assembly, and repair of metal components and structures in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.

What You Would Typically Do In This Role

Welding

· Perform welding operations using approved welding processes including MIG, TIG, and other processes as required.

· Weld a variety of materials and thicknesses to specified quality standards.

· Produce quality welds that meet dimensional, structural, and cosmetic requirements.

· Inspect welds and perform repairs when necessary.

· Follow welding procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.

Fabrication

· Fabricate components and assemblies from raw materials with minimal supervision.

· Safely move and handle raw materials,



fabricated components, and finished products using appropriate equipment.

· Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.

· Lay out, measure, mark, and prepare materials for fabrication.

· Fit and assemble components prior to welding.

· Operate fabrication equipment including saws, shears, ironworkers, drills, presses, brake presses, rollers, grinders, and other shop equipment.

· Cut, shape, bend, form, and prepare materials to required specifications.

· Verify fit-up, dimensions, alignment, and tolerances before final welding.

· Assist with assembly and installation of fabricated components when required.

Production & Quality

· Complete work in accordance with production schedules and customer requirements.

· Perform dimensional checks using measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, squares, protractors, and layout tools.

· Troubleshoot fabrication, fit-up, and welding issues and recommend corrective actions when required.

· Identify and report quality concerns, material shortages, and production issues.

· Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.

· Work effectively with other trades and production team members to complete work safely and efficiently.

Safety & Compliance

· Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and APM policies and procedures.

· Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to ISO compliance and participate in audits as required.

· Assist in maintaining quality standards by checking parts for obvious defects or damage before and after welding.

· Report safety concerns, damaged equipment, or quality issues to the Fabrication Lead immediately.

What You Need To Bring

· Journeyperson Welder, Red Seal Certification, CWB Certification,



or an equivalent combination of welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.

· Experience in welding and metal fabrication within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Ability to read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings.

· Strong understanding of welding processes and fabrication practices.

· Experience using fabrication equipment and common shop tools.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

· Strong work ethic and reliability.

· Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.

· Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

What Access Precision Machining Offers:

· Competitive wage of $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on education and experience.
