Position SummaryThe Property Accountant reports to the Manager, and Supervisor of Property Accounting to provide reliable and timely financial reports for properties managed by CPMI on an efficient basis and provide efficient support to property managers and administrators.ResponsibilitiesMaintain the property accounting records for the assigned Commercial portfolioGenerate monthly financial statements and supporting schedulesAssist in reconciliation of capital projects costsComplete the analysis of all capital costs incurredEnter journal entries, A/R adjustmentsPrepare annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and Tax final billing adjustmentsPrepare year-end audit working paper files and maintain amortization schedulesPerform month-end activities, from balance sheet and account reconciliations to financial statement preparationAssist with the preparation of budgetsAssist with various functions within the finance department as assignedSupport the property administration staff in the financial management of their propertiesRespond to various inquiries of Owner's and property management teamAnalyze property records and address outstanding issuesAttend monthly financial review meetingsMonitor cash flow for assigned propertiesPrepare monthly HST reconciliationDeliver Excellent Service To Tenants And VendorsEfficient and effective communication, in a professional manner, with all employees and clientsSupport property management administration staff in responding to financial inquiries from tenants and vendors (receivables, CAM and Tax recoveries)Perform other related responsibilities as requested from time to timeEducation & Experience RequirementsDegree or Diploma in Accounting or related field, requiredCPA Designation, considered an assetMinimum 1-3 years of accounting experience within the commercial property management industryAdvanced MS Office skills, specifically in Excel and WordExperience working with YardiUnderstanding of Real Estate terminologyStrong analytical,
