**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
The Machine Operator works on a manufacturing floor producing industrial cables.

In this role, you set up and operate cable-spooling machines, load blank spools, start production runs, and replace completed spools with new ones.

The work pace is steady rather than high speed, with short downtime between start and finish cycles.
**Responsibilities**
Set up and operate cable-spooling machinery to produce industrial cables according to production specifications.

Load blank spools onto the machine, initiate the production cycle, and monitor machine operation during the run.

Remove completed cable spools from the machine and safely load new spools for the next production cycle.

Perform basic packaging and general production tasks associated with finished cable products.

Use a tape measure and basic math skills to verify cable lengths and measurements for quality and accuracy.

Follow written instructions and production documentation in English to complete tasks correctly and safely.

Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations.

Adhere to all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment in an industrial environment.

Stand for extended periods while working at the machine and on the production floor.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production goals.
**Essential Skills**
At least 6 months of experience in a heavy industrial production setting.

Experience with general production and machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to operate production machinery safely and efficiently.

Ability to use a tape measure accurately to read and verify measurements.

Basic math skills to read and interpret measurements and simple calculations.

Ability to read and understand English instructions and production documentation.

Proven reliable attendance, supported by references.

Ability to stand for long periods while working on the production floor.

Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment appropriately.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with packaging tasks in a manufacturing or production environment.

Comfort working in a heavy industrial setting with large equipment and materials.

Attention to detail when monitoring machine operation and checking measurements.

Willingness to learn and grow into long-term roles within a union setting.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brockville, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.57 - $24.57/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
