In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Operations Training Department is currently hiring for a
_Section Manager, Simulator Support_ .
**Key Responsibilities:**
Contributes to the development and growth of a Nuclear Safety Culture by communicating the Nuclear Safety message, setting the example for nuclear safety and demonstrating this commitment through words and actions.

Provides support to the Department Manager in managing the Department in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements.

Keeps the Department Manager informed of operational issues, changes and impact and make recommendations to effectively meet changing requirements.

Provides day-to-day coordination of the Section.

Provides oversight for work group performance, milestones, metrics, production, deliverables, budget, training and development to ensure Section meets business plan requirements.

Fosters continuous professional development of section members
Provides problem solving, corrective actions and troubleshooting expertise.

Ensures all Section activities, including those undertaken by contractors, are carried out with full regard to prescribed service levels, site license requirements, statutory regulations, Company and location directives, procedures and Safety Rules.

Manages Section in the areas of staffing, operational deployments, performance management, labour relations and other related matters.

Ensures that all personnel in the Section are appropriately trained for the tasks delegated to them and have appropriate qualifications and authorization.

Sponsors and actively champions Human Performance program and tools to achieve zero events.

Ensures full compliance with the Human Performance program and any associated initiatives.

Assists in the development of Section performance measures.

Monitor, analyze and assess performance effectiveness and recommend areas for improvement.

Participate in selection of new/replacement staff.

Ensures all reporting requirements with respect to Incidents, Station Condition Records, Corrective Action Plans, Action Requests and Work Requests, are effectively completed and processed in a timely manner.

Meets the site requirements for Observation and Coaching, Workplace Inspections and Safety.

Provides a safe and healthy environment that values workforce diversity and is free from discrimination and harassment.

Establishes a work environment that is safe, promotes quality work, continuous improvement and is respectful of each other.

Performs other duties as required.




**Specific Accountabilities:**
_Simulator Support:_
Manages the Simulator Development and Maintenance Program.

Provides maintenance and technical support to ongoing operation of Bruce A & Bruce B.

Maintains and operates Simulator Support facilities, which enables the development and maintenance of simulation environments and equipment.

Maintains Bruce A, Bruce B and Fuel Handling full scope, desktop and classroom simulators in good working order to meet the needs of the requisite training programs, and to comply with the applicable regulatory requirements for training simulators.

Completes Simulator capital upgrades, which sustain and enhance the simulators.

Supports instructors in the use of the full scope, classroom and desktop simulators.

Supports Bruce Power in the use and innovation of simulation technology.

Provides the oversight and management of financial accountabilities for the simulator support department, including Ribbon Funding, project management funding, capitol work and contract management.

Works cross functionally with groups executing projects that impact the station and the simulator to ensure that updates are incorporated into the appropriate simulator according to timelines laid out by either training or the project
Demonstrates a strong understanding of Bruce Power IT standards and expectations in order to ensure compliance
**Education and Experience:**
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of a 4 year university degree in Engineering and by being a CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) graduate or a non-CEAB graduate with verified academic credentials.

An Ontario Professional Engineering designation (P.

Eng.) is considered an asset but is not required.
A period of over 8 years and up to and including 10 years of progressive management experience in Technical, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering or in a related field provided that an orientation program is established to achieve an understanding of front-line business issues in the areas stated above.

Knowledge of business operations, organization, functions, operating policies and procedures, regulations, and license requirements.

Demonstrated knowledge of Company philosophy, attitudes, policies and procedures on: Safety issues (together with the underlying principles and supporting standards);
Public relations and methods of promoting Bruce Power to the general public in a positive light;
Financial analysis and control; business and strategic objectives/business planning; contract management.

Business Excellence Model.

Safety procedures and Site License Requirements, including Site Emergency Plan Arrangements.

Standards required in personal, industrial, radiological and nuclear safety procedures.

Excellent organization, planning, time management and project management abilities.

Proven ability to meet deadlines with grace under pressure.

Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities,



including skilled coaching and mentoring and an ability to empower employees
Demonstrated excellence in problem solving in the technical and non-technical realms
Ability to establish excellent working relationships with both internal and external contacts.

Excellent level of written, verbal and presentation skills.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
