PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT

Location: Calgary, AB
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000

THE OPPORTUNITY
As Property Accountant, you'll take ownership of the accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties while working closely with property management, clients, tenants, and internal team members.
You'll have the opportunity to work across the full accounting cycle while developing a strong understanding of the operational and financial side of commercial real estate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and year-end processes.
- Prepare and coordinate CAM recoveries and related working papers.
- Complete bank reconciliations, cash management, and client distribution calculations.
- Prepare GST filings and supporting documentation for annual audits.
- Set up new tenants and leases within the accounting system.
- Process receipts, accounting entries,



and other day-to-day financial transactions.
- Work closely with property managers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Respond to accounting-related questions from internal stakeholders and clients.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and overall efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within commercial real estate or property management.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles.
- Experience with commercial real estate accounting, including CAM recoveries, budgeting, and property-level financial reporting, is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a cooperative team.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is an asset.
- Commercial real estate experience is strongly preferred.
