SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 POSTING #26/27-37 TEMPORARY JOB POSTING SMITHERS SECONDARY SCHOOL / BULKLEY VALLEY EDUCATION CONNECTION .50 FTE TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT (Semester One) GRADE 8-12 HUMANITIES COURSES / ELECTIVES AND OTHER ONLINE COURSES AS REQUIRED* EFFECTIVE: to January 31, 2027 The successful candidate will:

- Have University qualifications and successful teaching experience in teaching the above listed subject areas at a secondary level.
- Have experience in delivering courses through a course management system such as Moodle and Office 365 - Have experience and qualifications in the design, creation and delivery of Online Learning Courses - Have experience in developing personalized learning plans with parents - Have a strong understanding of the principles of Distributed Learning Education - Have demonstrated success with students with behavioral and motivational challenges - Have a commitment to the directions of the school as outlined in the School Growth Plan - Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas - Be committed to and practice the philosophy of inclusion - Foster a student-centered environment in the classroom - Have positive interpersonal skills and a history of successful classroom management - Have knowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formative assessment - Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison - Be committed to working as a cooperative member of a school wide instructional team and attend meetings as required.
