Sotheby’s International Realty Canada is seeking a friendly, collaborative, and tech-savvy Accountant to join our accounting team at our head office in downtown Vancouver.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with our senior accounting team, this role will oversee the accounting operations for our Quebec brokerage and provide support to the broader accounting team.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of full-cycle accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. As this role works closely with our Quebec team, fluency in both English and French is required. We are looking for a proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills who is comfortable researching solutions, learning new processes independently, and taking initiative to resolve issues.

Real estate experience is an asset, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Quebec Accounting Operations

- Manage the Quebec sales team to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger as well as the company’s transaction management software.
- Process and/or approve Commission EFTs and wire transfers in accordance with company procedures.
- Import and reconcile accounting entries from the company’s transaction management software, NexOne, into Acomba.
- Perform bank and intercompany reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and other adjustments as required.
- Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness as required.
- Prepare the monthly Marketing Budget-to-Actual Variance Analysis.
- Assist with annual OACIQ inspections and provide accounting records and supporting documentation as required.
- Oversee the day-to-day Accounts Payable process, including reviewing, coding,



and entering invoices into the company’s accounting software, Acomba, and processing vendor payments.
- Process monthly office rent payments and related adjustments.
- Monitor the company’s Accounts Payable email group and ensure invoices and inquiries are appropriately addressed and routed.

Head Office Accounting Support

- Support the broader accounting team with accounting-related projects and initiatives.
- Process payroll during the Senior Payroll Administrator’s vacation.
- Prepare weekly sales and agent status reports as required.
- Assist with other accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills We are looking for a proactive, independent, and team-oriented professional who takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

You bring

- Fluency in both English and French, with the ability to communicate professionally with our Quebec team.
- 2–3 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify solutions, and make sound decisions independently.
- A self-starter mentality and the ability to learn new processes, systems, and procedures independently.
- The initiative to research and troubleshoot questions before escalating issues, while knowing when to seek guidance when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.




- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and diplomatic approach.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new technology and systems.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to take initiative.
- CPA designation is an asset, but not required.
- Payroll experience and/or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset.
- Experience with Acomba, NexOne, and/or Lone Wolf Technologies is an asset.
- Real estate industry experience is an asset, but not required.
