The Accounting Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Headingley, MB. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Day-to-day tasks include posting and reconciling journal entries, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.

The Accounting

Analyst will monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and provide analytical insights to support management decisions. The role also involves maintaining organized financial records, collaborating with operations and sales teams on cost and revenue analysis, and assisting with audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to interpret and apply core accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Proficiency with Journal Entries (Accounting), account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills for variance analysis, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support business decisions.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel), including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; pursuit of or eligibility for a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) is an asset.
- Experience in construction, building materials or manufacturing environments is considered an advantage.





The ideal candidate will have:

- 3+ years of accounting experience supporting multiple departments.
- 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (preferably in construction or manufacturing).
- Working knowledge of: GAAP, Tax laws, Budgetary processes, ERP implementation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of BisTrack (ERP) and Great Plains (GP) systems (strong asset).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present findings to senior management.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy, supported by high-level critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning.
- Ability to work independently, with a proactive mindset for process improvement and business growth.
- Ability to provide excellent internal customer service and follow up on requests.
