Accounting Manager — Downtown Vancouver, BC (Hybrid) We are a Canadian CPA firm providing fractional CFO and financial reporting services, primarily to publicly traded junior mining and exploration companies. We are a lean, high-standard team: four staff accountants take files from bookkeeping through draft financial statements, and our Principal (a CPA) performs final review before anything reaches auditors or regulators. We are hiring a CPA manager to be the technical reviewer and day-to-day leader of our accounting team.
What you will own - Technical review of staff work: lead sheets, working papers, reconciliations, and draft financial statements — footing, cross-casting, tie-outs, disclosure - Manage, coach, and develop our 4 staff accountants; run the review process so files reach final review clean - Own month-end close checklists and working-paper standards across the team - IFRS financial reporting for junior mining/exploration clients (exploration expenditures, flow-through financings, share capital transactions, warrants, stock options, related-party transactions) - Act as audit liaison:
prepare files and support external auditors at year-end - Flag technical issues and risks to the Principal before final review What this role is not Billing, collections, and all client / CEO / board relationships stay with the Principal. This is a technical-review and team-leadership role — not a business-development or client-facing one.
Requirements - Licensed Canadian CPA; Big 4 experience strongly preferred - 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including review or supervisory experience - Robust IFRS knowledge;
experience with mining/extractive clients a major plus - Hands-on with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero; Caseware an asset - Excellent written and spoken English; able to give clear, direct feedback Compensation - $105,000-$130,000 base salary, commensurate with experience How to apply Send your CV and a brief note on your review experience (what you look for when reviewing a junior's file) to
