Description The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, temporary (9 Months) Advanced Practice Clinical Leader in the Acute Care Program. Reporting to the Clinical Director of Acute Care, as an Advanced Practice Clinical Leader you will support point-of-care staff in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the assessment, individual and group treatment for patients with acute psychiatric illnesses and concurrent substance use disorders.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Acute Care/Child, Youth and Emerging Adults Program leadership team to support inpatient point-of-care teams and models of care. You will role model clinical practice in complex care situations; engage indirect care activities for complex and high risk clients; lead development of the program’s groups programming; support interprofessional collaborative care, academic and research opportunities; promote the implementation and audit of documentation standards; participate in or facilitate quality improvement projects and quality reviews focusing on patient safety; and supervise graduate students. Together with operational and other professional practice leaders, you will participate in program planning and evaluation; support integrated clinical resource in program-level and organizational level strategic planning activities for both inpatient and outpatient services.

Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in a regulated health discipline and will be a member of valuable standing inthe regulatory body. In addition, 5 years’ experience in mental health and addiction treatment is required. Applicants mustdemonstrate an understanding of the complex psychiatric and physical health needs of this clinical population. Additionalqualifications such as CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health, or other relevant certification is an asset. Eligibility for cross-appointment at the University of Toronto is also required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to provideprofessional practice leadership; the ability to challenge and motivate others; a commitment to enhancing academic and researchendeavours;

experience in leading change and the ability to provide advanced clinical care in a culturally diverse environment.Previous advanced practice/administrative/academic scholarship is an asset. The candidate will also have excellent interpersonal,communication, negotiation, teaching and computer skills. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language isconsidered an asset.
