Job Title: After School Program Tutor

Hours: 9 - 18 hours/week

Time Frame: Monday - Friday from 3:15pm-6:45pm

Location: Eva Rothwell Centre - 460 Wentworth St. N

Accountability: The After School Program Tutor will report directly to the Program Manager of the Eva Rothwell Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lesson/program planning, managing daily setup and clean-up, and photo documentation of the experiences to be used as a program evaluation tool.
- Creating and executing personalized lesson plans for students in grades 5 through 8 in a one-on-one capacity.
- Encouraging and promoting participation in engaging educational activities and exercises.
- Following and upholding the Eva Rothwell Centre’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
- Providing leadership, direction, and daily management in alignment with the Mission, Core Values, policies, and procedures of the Eva Rothwell Centre.




- Acting as a positive role model while providing assistance and support to staff, children, and families.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

- Experience facilitating children’s programs and/or working with children.
- Experience tutoring children and youth.
- The ability to tutor students in French is an asset.

Special Requirements:

- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.
- High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification (Recreation Quality Assurance Standard) is an asset.
- Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset.
- Experience teaching French is an asset
