POSITION OBJECTIVE The All Wheels Park Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive workplace for all park users. This role emphasizes a visible, approachable presence within the park. This position actively engages with participants, promotes respectful use of the space, and models positive behaviors for all.

Monitors build relationships with youth and community members by offering guidance, encouragement, and informal mentorship. They help prevent conflicts through proactive communication, support beginner riders, and celebrate skill development and creativity across all wheeled sports.

In addition to relationship-building, the monitor ensures adherence to park rules, identifies and reports maintenance or safety concerns, and collaborates with staff and community partners to foster a vibrant, respectful park culture.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· Adherence to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures ensuring a safe environment for children, young people/vulnerable adults; identifying children, young people/vulnerable adults who are suffering, or likely to suffer, significant harm; and taking appropriate action to see that such children, young people/vulnerable adults are kept protected at the YMCA.

· Adherence to the YMCA Occupational Health & Safety Policy and accountable to work safely at all times, to identify and report hazards, to take whatever measures necessary and reasonable in the circumstances, to protect and promote health and safety.

· Ensure Y Way and Shine On Brand Standards are met and exceeded.

· Serve as a role model to participants, volunteers and staff by demonstrating our YMCA values.

· Understand, promote, participate and solicit others to participate in YMCA philanthropic, recognition and awareness events and activities in the organization.





· Provide assistance at all YMCA sites by modeling positive behavior, enforcing rules, and serving as a mentor for young people.

· Foster collaboration and leadership among young people in and out of the facilities through activities that promote positive social interactions and encourage participants to actively pursue responsibility for their actions and the space.

· Assess group dynamics and collaborate with other Y team members to create activities for desired outcomes such as relationship building, positive social interaction, and improved self-confidence.

· Encourage youth to participate in activities and form healthy relationships by greeting and introducing yourself and others and providing oversight to ensure everyone is treated fairly.

· Build and maintain relationships with youth and community members at the YMCA North Location.

· Perform all wheels park checks weekly for any maintenance that may be required

· Elevated attention to cleanliness and relationship building at the all wheels park.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience working evenings and after closure of a facility.

· Experience with repair of bicycles, skateboards, and scooters an asset.

· Well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with youth, staff and volunteers.

· Excellent written communication skills.

· A criminal record check and vulnerable sector check are required as a condition of employment

· Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR

REQUIREMENT

This position shall not, for the duration of their employment, maintain any interests directly or indirectly, as an employee, or act in any other capacity, for any other organization that conducts business which may be perceived as similar to, or in competition with, The YMCA of Greater Moncton’s business, without obtaining prior permission from the YMCA Department VP or Director. Due to YMCA privacy and ethical business practices, the employee in this position agree to refrain from contacting YMCA clients and members for business purposes after employment termination.
