Position Summary

Bloom Burton is seeking a full-time Investment Banking Analyst to join Canada's most active healthcare investment banking team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine passion for investment banking and the healthcare sector to play a key role on our high-performing team. The successful candidate will work closely with other Analysts, Associates, Vice Presidents, and senior bankers across the firm to help deliver the highest quality analysis, advice, and transaction execution for our clients.

The position is full time and in-person at Bloom Burton’s offices.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain detailed financial models
- Perform valuation analysis using discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and related methodologies
- Assist in the preparation of client pitches, management presentations, offering related documents, and other transaction-related and business development materials
- Source, review, organize, and interpret financial and industry data from multiple data sources
- Build and maintain internal market data tracking, valuation tools, and industry databases
- Conduct and support due diligence, including fundamental qualitative and quantitative financial, company,



and industry analysis
- Support the execution and coordination of M&A; and financing transactions
- Contribute to business development efforts and support client coverage by senior bankers
- Assist in the training and mentoring of summer and/or co-op students

Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, life sciences, or other related field; recent graduates and candidates with up to two years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply
- Exceptional integrity, ethics, and maturity with discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential client information
- The ability to engage colleagues and clients to the highest professional standards
- Strong aptitude for and fluency in finance, accounting, and capital markets principles
- Advanced Excel-based financial modeling and valuation skills
- Mastery of Microsoft Office is essential, with exceptional command of Excel (financial modeling) and PowerPoint (presentation development)
- Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, high-volume environment while maintaining a high level of service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including in person, by email, videoconference, and by telephone with strong etiquette and relationship-management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Intellectual curiosity and a strong appetite for continuous learning
- Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, or other market data platforms is an asset
- An in-progress or completed CFA or CPA (or similar professional designation) and/or a healthcare-related academic or professional background is an asset, though not a requirement
