Position Title: AP Psychology Teacher (Part-Time, After School)

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM; or Mondays and Wednesday 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM; or Weekends

Position Overview

Pattison High School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic educator to teach Advanced Placement (AP) Psychology. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about psychology, student engagement, and preparing learners for success in a rigorous university-level course.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive AP Psychology program that prepares students to write the AP Psychology Examination in May while fostering critical thinking, academic achievement, and a genuine interest in the study of human behavior and mental processes.

Responsibilities

- Select and recommend an appropriate AP Psychology textbook and supporting instructional resources.
- Develop engaging, rigorous, and student-centered lesson plans aligned with AP Psychology course expectations.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that promotes student understanding and participation.
- Create and implement both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Evaluate student achievement and provide timely,



constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction and provide enrichment or additional support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessment results.
- Prepare students for success on the AP Psychology Examination administered in May.
- Communicate professionally with school administration, students, and families regarding student progress.

Qualifications
- Valid British Columbia Teaching Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of psychology and secondary school curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students in a challenging academic program.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching AP Psychology.
- Previous experience teaching Advanced Placement courses.
- Demonstrated success preparing students for AP examinations.
- Experience developing original instructional materials and assessment
