Role: Join the team at Great Plains Recreation Facility! Help maintain our two ice surfaces using our Engo Electric Ice Resurfacer, keep the facility safe and welcoming, and provide great service to visitors.

Compensation: $47,840–$54,080 per year (equivalent to $23–$26 per hour), depending on skills and experience.

Hours of Work: This full time, salaried position works four 10-hour morning shifts, Thursday through Sunday. You’ll have three consecutive days off each week, Monday through Wednesday.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain the ice using the Engo Electric Ice Resurfacer, ice edger and other equipment.
- Keep dressing rooms, the café, hallways, meeting rooms and lobby clean.
- Assist guests and user groups, and help enforce facility rules.
- Follow safety procedures,



report incidents and complete required forms.
- Perform minor repairs, painting and preventive maintenance inside and outside the facility.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
- Arena Operator Level 1 and previous arena experience are assets.
- A satisfactory Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, is required as a condition of employment.

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Experience

- driving a zamboni or olympia ice resurfacer: 1 year (required)
- working in an ice arena: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- Arena Operator Level 1 Certificate (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred)
