Kallar Welding & Fabrication is looking for an Assistant Survey Manager to help lead and support our growing Construction Survey Division.

This role is ideal for an experienced Party Chief or construction surveyor ready to take on more responsibility while staying connected to field operations.

You'll work closely with our Survey Manager, field surveyors, clients, and construction crews to help plan jobs, coordinate field activities, review data, solve problems, and keep projects moving.

Our work isn't limited to one city or project type. Projects can take our crews throughout Canada, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable travelling when required.

What You'll Be Doing

This hands-on leadership position combines surveying, project coordination, field support, and team development.

Responsibilities may include

- Supporting the Survey Manager with day-to-day survey operations
- Coordinating and supporting field survey crews
- Reviewing project drawings and survey requirements
- Preparing field crews with the information and data required to execute work correctly
- Reviewing survey data, field notes, and completed work
- Pile and structure layout
- Pile cut-off elevations
- As-built surveys
- Setting pile caps and structural components
- Supporting solar and structural projects
- Communicating with clients, project managers, supervisors, and construction crews
- Helping coordinate scheduling, manpower, equipment, and project priorities
- Troubleshooting field and data issues
- Mentoring and supporting junior survey staff
- Maintaining Kallar's standards for accuracy, documentation, safety, and professionalism
- Assisting with the continued growth and development of the Survey Division

Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who knows construction surveying and is ready to become a stronger leader.





You don't need to know everything on day one. You do need to be dependable, organized, technically capable, and willing to take ownership.

Requirements:

- Strong construction surveying experience
- Field leadership experience preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, layout, and as-built work
- Experience with survey equipment, field data collection, and survey software
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients and construction teams
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Willing and able to travel throughout Canada for project work
- Valid driver's licence
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to lead by example
- Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or an equivalent is an asset
