Reporting to the VP, Product Solutions & User Experience, the successful applicant will be a strong people leader and key contributor with core responsibilities and subject matter expertise across all product structures. Key responsibilities include managing Mackenzie’s product shelf by facilitating the screening of potential fund merger & termination candidates and the execution of these fund activities. Included within shelf oversight is the management of Mackenzie’s pricing strategy and principles across the retail and institutional product shelves, and oversight of Fund distributions. The role will also be responsible for developing the strategy and providing oversight and support of all investment solutions and account types offered by Mackenzie which are not centered around a specific investment mandate. The Shelf Management, Solutions & Accounts group is part of Mackenzie’s broader Product Solutions & User Experience Team, and the Product Division.

Area of Responsibility/Key Accountabilities

Shelf Management

- Responsible for the effective management of Mackenzie’s mutual fund product shelf.• Ownership of Mackenzie’s long-term shelf management strategy, fund mergers and terminations.• Leads the annual screening of funds for merger & termination opportunities, completes assessments of fund investment objectives and potential continuing funds and builds out the recommendations for Mackenzie’s senior management and Independent Review Committee (IRC).• Leads the execution of fund mergers and terminations working with Fund Accounting and Sales to minimize advisor disruption.• Collaborates with Product Leadership to ensure recommendations align across product structures.

Pricing

- Leads the pricing team responsible for Mackenzie’s fund pricing and dealer compensation strategy and the effective implementation of any changes, ensuring that they are coordinated within the organizational strategy.• Continuously monitors and evaluates Mackenzie's pricing in the context of the existing strategy and competitive trends.• Anticipates and addresses regulatory and competitive forces shaping industry pricing.• Oversees annual pricing reviews,



surfaces opportunities to improve Mackenzie’s competitiveness and build out recommendations for presentation to Mackenzie’s Operating Committee.• Monitors competitor offerings and actions (reporting, analysis, escalation, proposed response).• Monitors the distribution landscape, dealer compensation, dealer needs, advisor needs, and platform pricing.• Develops all pricing initiatives and proposals.• Completes the analysis and proposals relating to new products.• Synchronization with other functional areas and implementation.• Business lead and quarterback on implementing pricing changes. Responsible for coordinating operations, distribution & training, disclosures (prospectus, marketing, etc).• Maintains and provides oversight of the coordinated pricing framework.• Spearheads and provides oversight of pricing on private label arrangements and special product categories (LB series, PFSL, private wealth series).• Prospectus management, and engagement with partners.• Oversees reporting, monitoring and policy on private wealth series (eligibility, exceptions).• Ensures appropriate MERs for all Funds and Series.• Ensures the mutual fund shelf is priced in a clear, consistent, and competitive manner.

Solutions & Accounts

- Responsible for the strategy, end-to-end delivery, and oversight of all investment solutions and account types on Mackenzie's platform (including Systematic programs, Mackenzie Automatic Rebalancing Service, Flexible Payout Service, One-Step DCA, U.S. dollar purchase options, registered plans (including TFSA, RDSP, RESP, FHSA etc.), and specialty account types; Mackenzie’s Charitable Giving Program).• Oversight of distributions to ensure institutional excellence.• Investigates opportunities to onboard new investment relationships to Mackenzie and adapt systems, processes, fund structures accordingly.• Leadership of the team that serves as the primary relationship manager / “advocate” of all product structures and represent the Product Team on cross-functional working groups implementing changes to Mackenzie’s product shelf.• Provides product support for investment calculators such as T-Series calculator, Private Wealth Proposal Tool, etc.• Independently monitors competitive market and regulatory developments which impact Mackenzie’s investment solutions and products structures, liaise, and collaborate with other internal and external sources of influence / knowledge.• Collaborates with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to develop and drive the creation and review of all product promotional material for Investment Solutions, account types, pricing etc.

Team Leadership & Employee Development

- Responsible for team member annual development plans and SMART objective setting.• Reviews employee engagement survey results and actively works on improving team results.• Creates and executes plans that will aid in advancing DE&I; within the team.• Provides regular employee performance feedback and annual performance reviews.

Requirements:

Experience

- 12-15 years

Qualifications (certifications, designations etc.)

- Analytical with the ability to think and act strategically in a dynamic environment.



Anticipate future trends in the client service and financial service industries.• 12+ years of increasing experience of financial analysis in a financial services environment (preferably in the investment / asset management industry) with experience in development of research methodology, competitive product and industry level research as well as experience in report-writing and in making presentations to senior management.• Solid leadership, team building, and career development skills.• A university degree in a business or finance-related discipline.• Proficient with industry research platforms required to access comprehensive data and independent analysis on investment funds.• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook.

Job specific knowledge and skills

- Technical understanding of fund merger taxation, regulatory landscape.• Deep understanding of Charitable Giving programs, RDSP’s and other account types.• Foundational expertise of industry pricing, regulatory changes impacting industry pricing, financial analysis of pricing impacts.• Strong ability to understand investor ad advisor needs.• Collaborative.• Strong presentation and ability to influence senior executives.
