ATIP Analyst

The Policy, Public and Legal Affairs Branch is looking for an ATIP Analyst for a term position with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to an indeterminate appointment. The current term ends on March 31, 2028.

The position is classified as a RÉ-04 (from $66,836 to $85,106 per annum - under review).

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives, the ATIP analyst provides operational and administrative services to support two legislative programs - the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act, as well as internal policies as they pertain to the handling of information. The ATIP analyst reviews relevant records to apply exemptions or exclusions in response to ATIP requests which are submitted to the Chief, ATIP for approval.



The individual assists in the development of related policies and procedures and provides advice and guidance to employees and managers on the requirements of these programs. The NCC ATIP office offers flexible working arrangements and schedules.

As a federally regulated employer, the NCC is subject to the Pay Equity Act. The NCC’s pay equity plan identified this job for a pay equity adjustment, which will be reviewed when the pay equity plan is updated.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the application and interpretation of the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) legislation, especially in:

- Examining documents to determine what sections of the Act apply to requested records.
- Interpreting ATIP legislation and providing advice & guidance to the public, managers and employees.
- Consulting with other government institutions in relation to information requested under the Access to Information Act or Privacy Act.

KNOWLEDGE

- Of Access to Information and Privacy Acts & Regulations, and Treasury Board policies and directives.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

- Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance.
- Linguistic profile: Bilingual CCC.
- Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace.
