NATURE OF THE WORK

The principal and customary role of an employee in this job classification is to assist students with disabilities or learning difficulties in participating in activities related to their schooling. The employee supports students in their mobility, attends to their well-being, hygiene, and safety, in accordance with the instructions received as part of an intervention plan. RESPONSABILITIES The employee supports teaching staff by helping students learn basic concepts related to personal hygiene, dressing, drinking, and eating. They assist students in using, or use on their behalf, the materials and equipment required for the preparation and implementation of educational and student activities. They supervise students during recess, lunch periods, nap time, and leisure activities. They help students understand and comply with school rules and instructions.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS





- Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Assistance in Health Care Facilities or a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority
- one (1) year of pertinent experience in those areas requiring self-discipline, general concepts in psychology and human relations skills.
- Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of:
- a standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8)-hour duration
- a refresher course of a minimum six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in subparagraph 1
