About the Opportunity micro1 is engaging experienced Biostatisticians to contribute to an advanced customer project focused on AI benchmarking and evaluation.

In this role, selected experts will apply their biostatistical expertise to design realistic evaluation tasks that assess how AI systems handle complex clinical, epidemiological, and regulatory problems. Your work will help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through rigorous, real-world input.

Prior AI experience is not required. The primary qualification is strong domain expertise in biostatistics and the ability to apply rigorous methodological reasoning to realistic clinical and research scenarios.

Responsibilities

- Design and author expert-level evaluation tasks simulating real-world biostatistics challenges, including clinical trial analysis, regulatory submission review, and observational study assessment.
- Source, construct, and curate authentic datasets, including clinical trial data, patient records, and protocol documents, for use in evaluation tasks.
- Define correct methodological approaches and defensible clinical interpretations for each evaluation scenario.
- Develop comprehensive 35+ item evaluation rubrics to assess AI agent performance in methodological rigor and clinical reasoning.
- Ensure evaluation tasks reflect the complexity and depth of real-world biostatistical practice rather than simplified or textbook-style examples.
- Incorporate appropriate statistical methodology, clinical context, and research considerations into evaluation scenarios.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure deliverables align with relevant scientific and regulatory standards.
- Review tasks and reference solutions for methodological accuracy, consistency, and practical relevance.




- Author detailed technical documentation supporting evaluation criteria and expected solutions.

Required Qualifications

- Advanced expertise in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or a closely related field.
- Strong command of clinical study design, statistical methodology, and research interpretation.
- Experience applying biostatistical methods to clinical, epidemiological, or real-world research data.
- Robust understanding of regulatory considerations relevant to clinical research and statistical analysis.
- Exceptional attention to methodological detail and accuracy.
- Ability to develop defensible statistical solutions and clinically meaningful interpretations.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical reasoning clearly.
- Ability to work independently and produce detailed, technically rigorous evaluation content.

Preferred Qualifications

- MS or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of professional experience in pharmaceutical, contract research, hospital, academic medical, or related environments.

- Advanced proficiency in R, Python, SAS, or Stata applied to clinical or epidemiological datasets.
- Experience preparing submission-ready statistical deliverables for regulatory agencies such as the FDA or EMA.




- Experience developing assessment rubrics, technical documentation, or evaluation frameworks.
- Previous experience with AI benchmarking, AI evaluation, or model assessment is a plus.
