Overview

Highfield Construction is looking for a Bridge Construction Foreman/Woman to coordinate and supervise our team of crew members. The successful candidate will be responsible for training recent workers and will work closely with management and sub-contractors to coordinate work. They will also create and maintain construction schedules; manage staff; ensure construction equipment is properly maintained; and keep projects on schedule.

The candidate should be extremely organized with excellent time management, leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Tasks

- Recommend measures to improve productivity
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Co-ordinate and schedule activities
- Coordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
- Read project plans, drawings, specifications, and blueprints
- Requisition materials and supplies
- Supervise workers and projects
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units




- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
- Monitor attendance of the crew
- Emphasize safe use of all tools and equipment
- Enforce the proper use of safety gear, like hard hats and eye-protection
