City Limits Dog Boarding Inc is a dog kennel offering overnight boarding, daycare and grooming services. Our human clients have pets with individual and special needs. We are seeking an experienced, reliable, hard working individual who likes physical work, loves dogs and who wants to grow with us. Must be a team player as well as being productive while working independently.

This position is physically demanding, working conditions include indoors and outdoors in all seasons. You will be on your feet all shift. This position conducts daily kennel operations and ensures the health, wellbeing, comfort and safety of dogs in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Animal Husbandry & Care

Feeding, watering, administering medications, and grooming. Record keeping of feeding, medications, wellness checks and daily activities.

Cleaning & Disinfecting

Maintaining and thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting kennels and facilities.

Behaviour & Health Monitoring

Observe, record and report changes in dogs behaviour or health conditions.

Exercise & Enrichment

Evaluate and facilitate compatible play groups, report and update on dogs progress during social and/or exercise outlets. Recommend additional enrichment activities to support individual dog’s needs.

Client Services

Greet clients, assist with daycare and boarding arrivals and departures, provide feedback on dogs stay, answer general inquiries.

Kennel Operations

Handle laundry, dishwashing and facility cleaning duties to comply with health and safety protocols. Clear waste promptly and maintain a clean indoor and outdoor environment.





Qualifications & Requirements

Post secondary education in animal care, vet assistant, vet tech or equivalent

Pet First Aid certification

Compassion, reliability and strong commitment to animal care.

Ability to handle animals safely, using low stress and positive reinforcement techniques.

Capability to perform physical labour (cleaning, lifting, standing for long periods) and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Experience in dog daycare, boarding, animal welfare, or veterinary clinic.

Experience in customer service, child care, or personal support worker

Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions The kennel environment includes a variety of sights, sounds, and smells associated with animal care, including high noise levels.

The position requires staff to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions.

There is a potential risk of animal bites, scratches, and other injuries related to animal handling The position may involve emotionally challenging situations.

Pay: $19.50-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week
