Carpenter / General Contractor: Micro Home & Backyard Suite Builds

Who we are

We design and build code-compliant micro homes and backyard suites across Calgary and surrounding areas: compact, thoughtfully detailed, permanent-foundation structures that add real living space and real value. We're a small, growing operation. The builds are ours, the designs are ours, and clients come to us because they want a builder who understands both the construction and the real estate side of the transaction.

We're looking to bring on a carpenter who wants to be more than a carpenter.

The role

This is a hybrid position. You'll be on the tools doing finish work, and you'll also run the job. You'd take ownership of projects we've already sold, meaning the work exists, the client is committed, and you move it from drawings to completion.

What you'll do

- Read and work from architectural and engineered drawings
- Perform finish carpentry (trim, millwork, cabinetry, detailing) to a high standard
- Rough carpentry as needed through framing and lock-up
- Source, hire and manage subtrades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, concrete, roofing
- Fill the gaps yourself when a sub no-shows, a scope falls short, or a detail needs problem-solving
- Run the schedule, order materials, coordinate deliveries and inspections
- Manage the site: safety, cleanliness, sequence, quality control




- Flag issues early and solve them without waiting for direction
- Represent us professionally with clients, inspectors and suppliers

What you bring

- 5+ years of carpentry experience, with robust finish work
- Genuinely independent: you can be handed a set of drawings and a client and run with it
- Comfortable delegating and coordinating trades, and holding them to standard
- Entrepreneurial. You think like a business owner, not an employee
- Own tools, valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle
- Red Seal is an asset, not a requirement
- Bonus: experience with ADUs, laneway housing or small-footprint builds

What we offer

- $30–$40 per hour, based on experience and skill
- Performance bonuses on completed projects
- A path to profit participation, as you take on more of the build and more of the responsibility, we want you earning a percentage of project profits, not just an hourly rate. The goal is that you're invested in the outcome, because you share in it
