Space Ceiling is looking for a reliable, hands-on installation helper to join our team on a project basis in Calgary and surrounding areas.

We specialize in architectural ceiling systems, including stretch ceilings, acoustic ceilings and walls, integrated LED lighting, backlit ceilings, fiber-optic star ceilings, and custom ceiling features.

Stretch ceiling experience is not required. Training will be provided.

We are looking for someone with a background in carpentry, millwork, construction, or architectural installation who is comfortable working with wood, aluminum profiles, hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities

- Assist with installation of PVC and fabric stretch ceiling systems
- Measure, cut, prepare, and install aluminum profiles and support structures
- Work with wood and custom framing when required
- Read measurements, layouts, drawings, and installation plans
- Assist with LED lighting, backlit ceilings, fiber-optic ceilings, and specialty features
- Assist with acoustic ceiling and wall installations
- Prepare openings for lights, speakers, HVAC vents, sprinklers, and other ceiling components
- Use hand tools, power tools, lasers, and measuring equipment
- Work safely from ladders and scaffolding
- Load, unload, and organize installation materials
- Keep job sites clean and protect finished surfaces
- Learn specialized installation methods and follow instructions carefully
- Help troubleshoot installation challenges on site

What We’re Looking For
- Experience in carpentry, millwork, construction, or similar hands-on installation work




- Good understanding of measurements and how assemblies fit together
- Comfortable cutting and working with aluminum profiles and wood
- Confident using common hand and power tools
- Solid attention to detail
- Good problem-solving ability
- Reliable and punctual
- Willing to learn a specialized trade
- Comfortable performing overhead work for extended periods
- Able to perform physically demanding installation work
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolding
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Professional attitude on residential and commercial job sites

An Advantage, But Not Required
- Finish carpentry or millwork experience
- Metal or aluminum fabrication experience
- Experience reading construction drawings
- LED lighting experience
- Acoustic ceiling or wall installation experience
- Commercial construction experience
- Fall Protection, First Aid, lift equipment, or other construction safety certifications
