Cory Christopher Design is a fast-paced creative design studio specializing in luxury weddings, corporate events, seasonal installations, interactive activations and bespoke experiences throughout Alberta, Toronto and beyond.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Cory Christopher Design is seeking a painter to support our production team on a casual, project-by-project basis.

One project might involve painting custom-built display pieces in our Edmonton studio, while the next could have you completing touch-ups on a large-scale Christmas installation or helping transform an event space before guests arrive.

Hours will vary based on our production and installation schedule, making this an ideal chance for an painter looking for flexible, casual or supplemental work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, filling, patching, priming and masking.
- Apply paint, stain, primer and other finishes using brushes, rollers and other appropriate equipment.
- Complete detailed finishing work and touch-ups to ensure pieces meet our quality and design standards.
- Match colours and finishes as required for individual projects.
- Assist with repainting, refinishing and refreshing existing décor and inventory for reuse.
- Protect surrounding surfaces, décor, flooring and client/venue property while completing work.
- Work from design direction, reference images, samples or instructions provided by the CC Design and Production teams.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, organized and safe condition.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in the details,



works efficiently and understands that sometimes the creative solution isn't found in a standard instruction manual.

You should have

- Previous professional painting, finishing, scenic painting, construction, fabrication or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and common painting techniques.
- Experience working with a variety of surfaces and materials.
- Confidence using brushes, rollers and common painting/finishing tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for clean finishes.
- The ability to work independently while also taking direction and collaborating with a creative team.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to work efficiently within project deadlines.
- A willingness to adapt as project requirements evolve.
- Experience with event production, theatre/scenic work, custom fabrication or decorative finishing is considered an asset.

JOB TYPE Casual / Contract / Project-Based

Hours are variable and dependent on current projects, seasonal production and event schedules. This is not a guaranteed full-time position.

Our busiest periods may provide significantly more hours, particularly during large event builds and seasonal installation periods.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are considered assets.

COMPENSATION

Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
