Full Time CMA Position for Busy Multi-Specialist Clinic, located in Burlington, NC.

Clinic is a multi-specialty practice with more than 100 providers located just off I-40/I-85. Burlington is accessible as a day trip to NC Mountains and beaches. Ample recreational activities, shopping, and easy access to metros (Greensboro, Raleigh and Durham) are unique to Burlington.

We are currently seeking patient-focused individuals for a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Cardiology Department. This position would be located at the Burlington Kernodle Clinic location.

Experience preferred but not required. EPIC experience not required, but a preferred plus. Schedule would be Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All candidates must be graduates of an accredited MA program, and possess a current CMA certification, preferably through AAMA or AMT. *Two or more years of CMA experience in an ambulatory or specialty care setting. BLS certification through AHA required.

Duties Include, but not limited to the following:

- Room patients and enter chief complaint, medical history and current medications into the EHR





- Manage patient scheduling for Cardiology specific procedures/testing (cardiac catherizations, Holter monitors, imaging)

- Track and manage referrals

- Process prior authorizations for cardiology medications

- Plans, provides, and documents professional medical assisting care utilizing the medical assisting process, in accordance with physician/APP orders and established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the department manager.

- Promptly and accurately completes initial assessment including taking / recording weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and pain assessment. Asks chief complaint for visit, and updates allergies and medications in EPIC. Notes abnormal conditions. Collects and analyzes patient data, documents and communicates appropriately medical assisting actions taken and patient responses of the actions taken.

- Concisely document all patient related calls, orders, and transactions in the medical record.

- Provide pre and post procedure instructions

- When providing direct patient care, including patient related telephone conversations, employees use double identifiers to ensure right patient every time.

- Other clinical support responsibilities include disposing of contaminated supplies, instrument processing, high level disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments, telephoning prescriptions to a pharmacy, preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician, and authorizing drug refills as directed.
