Fire Ridge Transport Ltd. is hiring a part-time Cleaner/Janitor to look after our Grande Prairie operations. You'll split your time between our Fire Ridge yard and shop and the neighbouring Weir Construction site, keeping both running clean, tidy, and safe.

What you'll be doing

- Shop and yard: sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep of the shop floor and bays
- Washrooms and crew/lunch areas: daily cleaning and restocking of supplies
- Office areas: general tidying, waste removal, and surface cleaning
- Trucks: cleaning cab interiors and keeping units presentable
- Our crew accommodation: light cleaning of shared spaces only (kitchen, common areas, shared bathrooms) on a scheduled basis; private resident rooms are not part of this role
- General waste management and recycling across both sites
- Reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages as you find them

Hours

There is a substantial amount of work in this role. We expect two cleans a week at each office, plus truck interiors, plus the shared areas of our crew accommodation, plus the shop and yard. In busy periods that can approach full-time hours.

What we can't do is promise the same number of hours every week, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. The workload moves with site activity. We'll agree your general availability with you and confirm shifts in advance wherever we can, and every shift is scheduled for a minimum of three hours. Crew accommodation cleaning happens on an agreed schedule that residents are told about beforehand.

What you'll bring

- Experience keeping a workplace clean, organized, and safe, whether that's from a similar cleaning or janitorial role, facilities work, or comparable hands-on experience
- Comfort working independently and managing your own time across two sites
- A safety-first mindset: you'll be working around an active industrial yard,



moving vehicles and equipment, and cleaning products that require WHMIS awareness
- A valid driver's licence is an asset, given the two-site travel, but is not required if you have another way to get between sites

WHMIS training is provided. No specific certifications are required to apply.

Working environment and physical demands

This role is based at an active industrial site. You'll be on your feet for most of a shift, walking between areas, and moving around a yard where trucks and equipment are in motion. The work involves regular bending, kneeling, and reaching; lifting and carrying cleaning supplies and waste, generally up to about 20 kg; occasional work at height using a step ladder for higher surfaces; climbing into and out of truck cabs; and exposure to cleaning products and to outdoor weather conditions, including Alberta winter conditions, when working on units and moving between buildings and the yard.
