The Client Service Navigator (CSN) provides on-site, person-centered support at Chateau Masson, helping individuals maintain housing stability, access community services, and improve overall well-being through a collaborative, partnership-based model of care. Working in a high-acuity supportive housing environment, the CSN supports residents experiencing complex mental health, substance use, physical health, and social challenges while promoting independence, housing stability, and overall well-being.

This role is best suited for individuals who are calm under pressure, emotionally resilient, and committed to supporting people through some of the most challenging periods of their lives.Residents may be experiencing significant mental health concerns, substance use, trauma, chronic health conditions, and social isolation. You will regularly encounter crisis situations, challenging behaviours, and emotionally demanding circumstances.

Success in this role requires sound judgment, strong professional boundaries, adaptability, and the ability to remain compassionate and effective when progress is slow or outcomes are uncertain.

Responsibilities:

- Build trust-based relationships and provide voluntary, resident-centered support using a trauma-informed approach.
- Adjust service intensity based on each resident's needs, goals, and readiness.
- Help residents access healthcare, social services, and community resources.
- Coordinate supports, assist with appointments, and advocate within service systems.
- Work collaboratively with community partners, healthcare providers,



and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in care planning and case conferences.
- Support housing stability, wellness, daily living skills, and resident independence.
- Provide guidance to staff supporting residents with complex needs.
- Complete assessments, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reporting and program evaluation.
- Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and coordinate emergency response when required.
- Support follow-up planning to promote resident stability.
- Promote harm reduction, overdose prevention, and safer substance use practices.
- Support access to addiction services and respond to overdose incidents, including naloxone administration.

Qualifications & Skills

- Post-secondary education in Social Services, Health Sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years of experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, or other complex social and health needs in community, supportive housing, shelter, healthcare, or crisis-response environments.
- Knowledge of healthcare and social service systems, with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk, exercise sound judgment, and respond effectively during behavioural, mental health, medical, or substance use-related crises.




- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment and manage competing priorities.
- Valid driver's license and police clearance preferred/required.
