Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CNC Laser and Punch Operator role based in Coquitlam, BC. The CNC Laser and Punch Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC laser and punch machines to produce precision sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and work orders. Day-to-day tasks include selecting and loading materials, performing machine adjustments, optimizing cutting and punching parameters, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.

The role involves routine maintenance of equipment, reporting any machine issues, and collaborating with team members in production, engineering, and quality to maintain efficient workflow. The operator is expected to follow all safety procedures, support continuous improvement initiatives,



and contribute to Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 compliance.

Qualifications

- Experience in CNC machine operation, specifically CNC laser and punch equipment, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of precision sheet metal fabrication processes, including material handling, measuring, and inspection using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and Lean Manufacturing principles, with the ability to follow documented procedures and contribute to process improvements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and capacity to perform basic machine maintenance and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple jobs while meeting production schedules and quality requirements.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment, and recognition of potential hazards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and quality personnel in a rapid-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a sheet metal or fabrication environment and relevant technical training or certification in CNC operation, manufacturing, or a related field is an asset.
