CNC Lathe Operator

Full-time | Monday–Thursday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday 7:30 AM – 1:45 PM

Position Summary The CNC Lathe Operator will set up and run three Citizen 8-axis CNC lathes, each with a main and sub spindle, producing precision turned components as assigned by their lead hand. The role requires G/M code knowledge for multi-axis lathes, the ability to set up tooling on both spindles, blueprint reading, and measuring with calipers and micrometers.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate three Citizen 8-axis CNC lathes (main and sub spindle) to produce production parts.
- Perform job changeovers: load bar stock, adjust the bar feeder, change collets and guide bushings, and install and touch off tools.
- Read engineering drawings to plan machining sequences, including splitting operations between the main and sub spindle.
- Set and adjust tool geometry and wear offsets to hold dimensions.
- Edit and prove out G/M code programs at the control before releasing to production.
- Complete first-off QC inspections and in-process checks.
- Verify parts to drawings using calipers, micrometers, thread and pin gauges.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, grooving, threading, tapping, cross-drilling, live-tool milling and part-off.
- Optimize programs to reduce cycle and setup times, including balancing work between spindles.
- Replace worn inserts and tools; maintain coolant/oil levels, the chip conveyor and routine machine upkeep.
- Confirm part performance meets Engineering specifications.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements





- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years setting up and operating CNC lathes in manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with Citizen, Swiss-type or sub-spindle lathes is a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of G/M code for multi-axis lathes, including main/sub spindle synchronization and part transfer.
- Knowledge of turning tooling, speeds and feeds for stainless steel, brass and plastics.
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, thread gauges and height gauges.
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Able to keep up in a rapid-paced environment.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
