About the Opportunity

Barrhead & District FCSS Society is seeking a dedicated and community-minded Community Programs Manager to lead the delivery of essential community programs and services to individuals and families throughout the Barrhead and District region. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of established programs and help shape how they are delivered and grown going forward.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Community Programs Manager will oversee the Food Bank, Christmas Hampers, Hungry Kids, Coats for Kids, Santa's Toybox, the Jean Proft Recreation Fund (supporting youth recreation), Beyond the Ripple Thrift Store, and Transportation, while also administering the Society's Stewardship bank account.

What You'll Do

- Oversee the day-to-day management and delivery of all community programs listed above.
- Supervise staff and contractors, including the contract Bookkeeper and part time drivers, if applicable.
- Coordinate volunteer placements and day-to-day volunteer activities.
- Prepare and manage the annual program budget and provide ongoing financial oversight.
- Manage the Jean Proft Recreation Fund and administer the Stewardship bank account.
- Identify, apply for, and report on grant opportunities, and build strong donor relationships.




- Report regularly to the Board of Directors and support strategic and financial sustainability planning.
- Represent the Society in the community and lead marketing and outreach efforts.

What We're Looking For

- Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in non-profit program management, community services, or a related sector.
- Experience with staff and/or volunteer supervision.
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and grant administration.
- Demonstrated experience with donor relations, fundraising, or grant writing.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, is required.
