Construction Manager – Electrical Construction

Location: Richmond Hill / Greater Toronto Area, ON

Salary: $140,000 - $220,000

Must Haves

- 10+ years of progressive electrical construction experience, including significant experience managing large commercial, institutional, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

- Proven experience leading multiple electrical construction projects and managing Project Managers and project teams.

- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, scheduling, procurement, contracts, change management, and project controls.

- Strong financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, billing, cash flow, and project profitability.

- Solid leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage clients, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel regularly throughout the Greater Toronto Area and to active project sites.

Nice to Haves

- Degree, diploma, or trade background in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.

- PMP or other relevant project management certification.

- Experience managing complex design-assist or large-scale MEP construction projects.

- Experience with Accubid or similar electrical estimating and construction management software.

Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Project Administrators, and other members of the project management team.

- Oversee a portfolio of electrical construction projects from planning through close-out, ensuring projects meet safety, schedule, quality, financial, and contractual objectives.





- Maintain oversight of project schedules, manpower, procurement, materials, trade coordination, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and overall project performance.

- Conduct regular project reviews and provide direction and support to Project Managers on complex operational, contractual, financial, and client-related issues.

- Identify project risks, delays, scope gaps, procurement challenges, and commercial issues and ensure appropriate mitigation and recovery plans are implemented.

- Review project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, progress billings, committed costs, major expenditures, and financial projections.

- Work with Project Managers to protect project margins, improve profitability, and develop corrective plans for underperforming projects.

- Oversee change management including the identification, pricing, negotiation, documentation, and close-out of project changes.

- Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and strategic partners.

- Represent the company in project meetings, client reviews, negotiations, and issue-resolution discussions.

- Conduct regular site visits and project audits to support compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and operational requirements.

- Coordinate closely with Estimating, Finance, Health & Safety, Quality, Operations, and other internal departments.

- Provide senior leadership with clear reporting on project performance, financial results, risks, corrective actions, and portfolio status.

- Support the development and continuous improvement of project management processes, reporting standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
