About the Position

B-LEGACY INC. is seeking a reliable, responsible and hardworking Contract Caretaker to provide janitorial, building maintenance, grounds maintenance and property support services in Thompson, Manitoba.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the property in a clean, safe and well-maintained condition and responding promptly to routine and emergency service requests.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform daily cleaning and janitorial services in common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and maintain floors and carpeted areas.
- Clean and maintain entrances, hallways, stairs and other common areas.
- Empty and manage garbage and refuse.
- Perform weekly, monthly and seasonal cleaning duties.
- Clean windows and exterior areas as required.
- Maintain laundry, storage, janitorial and mechanical areas.
- Perform minor building maintenance and basic repairs.
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry-related tasks within the scope of the position.
- Inspect the building, grounds and common areas and report maintenance issues.
- Perform grounds maintenance, including grass, debris, sidewalks and exterior areas.
- Perform snow and ice removal, sanding and de-icing as required during winter.
- Check vacant units and report any concerns.
- Maintain required maintenance, safety and inspection records.
- Perform routine fire and life-safety checks according to established procedures.
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency situations.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, visitors, contractors and management.
- Follow all health, safety and workplace procedures.




- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in building maintenance, caretaking, janitorial services, property maintenance or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and minor repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
- Strong reliability, punctuality and work ethic.
- Valuable communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, walking, standing and cleaning.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to respond to urgent or emergency requests when required.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.
- Experience working in residential or multi-unit properties is an asset.

Security Requirements The successful candidate may be required to provide satisfactory criminal record and applicable abuse registry checks as required for the position.

Working Conditions

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, including cleaning, property maintenance, minor repairs and seasonal snow and ice removal.

The successful candidate must be available to respond to urgent situations when required and must be able to meet established response requirements.

Compensation

$1,300–$1,600 biweekly, depending on experience, qualifications and assigned responsibilities.
