West Lake Energy Corp. is a privately owned, intermediate producer with core assets located in the central Alberta and Saskatchewan areas. West Lake’s strategy is to grow its production base in both its heavy and medium areas through organic drilling complemented with focused acquisitions. West Lake has applied advanced drilling and completion techniques, which has allowed its wells to achieve compelling economic returns at sustained low oil prices.

West Lake continues to execute on a material multi-year drilling program.

We are currently recruiting for a Contract Operator located in Lloydminster, Vermillion or Wainwright, reporting to the Production Foreman.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for assisting the Operations Team with managing day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries and oil wells.
- Provide well and facility monitoring and maintenance.
- Complete production accounting with PVR.
- Assist with production optimization, trouble shooting and equipment maintenance.
- Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities, including but not limited to hazard identification/assessment, contractor management/engagement, equipment lockout, emergency response and safe work procedures.




- Identify and scope out opportunities to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtown.
- Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring and maintenance activities.
- Work 8 days on and 6 days off schedule

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Operator is preferred but willing to train the right candidate with oilfield experience.
- Strong field/plant operating background.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (drivers abstract is required).
- First Aid, CPR, and H2S certifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willing to work extra hours and be on-call as required.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
