Corporate Action Associate

We are seeking an independent and self-motivated Corporate Action Associate to provide daily Corporate Actions support for Trading and Equity Finance accounts. The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle processing of North American corporate action events across multiple entities within a Capital Markets environment.

Summary of Qualifications

- Report to the Senior Manager of the North American Corporate Actions team.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Corporate Actions lifecycle, from announcement capture through final entitlement reconciliation.
- Liaise daily with trading desks, operations teams, accounts and institutional counterparties to ensure efficient processing of elections and entitlement setups.
- Monitor and clear cash and stock reconciliations.
- Adapt to departmental projects, including the integration of voluntary Corporate Actions processing into entitlement tracking and external vendor systems.
- Manage and monitor complex Corporate Action events with significant operational and financial risk.
- Make independent decisions within established guidelines, procedures and authority levels when resolving or escalating issues.
- Escalate unresolved processing issues to the appropriate level.
- Develop initiatives and process improvements to prevent recurring operational issues.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Corporate Actions and Entitlements.
- Maintain key controls and participate in periodic control reviews.
- Identify potential risk situations, make recommendations and escalate to senior management when appropriate.
- Contribute to risk management and loss prevention through monitoring and controlling reports and taking appropriate action.
- Ensure compliance requirements, audits and verification activities are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.





Industry Knowledge and Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Asset Servicing, including a minimum of 2 years of voluntary Corporate Actions experience within a major financial institution or broker-dealer.
- Strong proficiency with AI tools and demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply innovative solutions to enhance and optimize processes.
- Undergraduate degree with a solid mathematics component, or equivalent depth of knowledge gained through experience and training.
- Experience servicing cash Prime Brokerage clients is preferred.
- Strong understanding of voluntary election arbitrage.
- Solid working knowledge of Canadian securities processing, CDS, DTC and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Robust time management and organizational skills.
- Collaborative approach to working with teams across multiple geographical locations for both BAU and project activities.
- Ability to identify process gaps and associated risks and develop practical solutions.
- Strong team player with a collaborative and professional approach.
- Solid understanding of business-unit risk and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to effectively manage a high volume of Corporate Action events with strict deadlines.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Project management experience involving the implementation or integration of key systems.
